The Museum of Comparative Zoology Department of Malacology publishes Occasional Papers on Mollusks and Special Occasional Papers on Mollusks. Both of these publications contain original contributions to the field of malacology and are issued on an irregular basis.
First published in 1945, Occasional Papers on Mollusks provides a forum for long, well-illustrated research papers and has become an important resource in the study of malacological history due to its extensive biographies, bibliographies, and catalogues. Special Occasional Papers on Mollusks publishes larger monographs and bibliographic works.
From 1941-1974, the Department of Malacology also published Johnsonia, a publication containing monographs concerned with western Atlantic mollusks.
