Postdoctoral Fellow
Hopi Hoekstra Lab
Andi
During his PhD, Andi worked on crater lake Midas cichlid fish from Nicaragua, inferring their colonization history and the evolutionary relationships of these populations with the goal to gauge the evidence for sympatric speciation. In a short postdoc, he continued to work on these fish, but switched his focus to elucidating the genetic bases of adaptive traits and understanding how the genomic landscape of speciation is affected by the genetic architecture of traits. Generally, he is interested in using population-genomic data to understand the evolutionary history of populations and to identify the genetic bases of adaptation and speciation. In the Hoekstra lab, his main goal is to identify the genetic and molecular bases underlying variation in innate behaviors of Peromyscus mice.
