Gunnar is a NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a background in ecology and is broadly interested in integrating ecological and molecular data to understand how organisms adapt to changing environmental conditions. His research aims quantify variation in the genomic, regulatory, and epigenetic pathways involved in the evolutionary responses of desert-adapted birds to climate change. By combining ecological field research with bioinformatics, Gunnar addresses broad questions within evolutionary, ecological, and conservation frameworks.
