Breda Zimkus planned and developed the MCZ's first Cryogenic Collection, which includes long-term storage of samples in liquid nitrogen. She manages the day-to-day operations of the collection, including the transfer of samples from their associated department, maintenance of samples in cold storage, and loan of samples to researchers worldwide. As a member of the Collections Operations team, she also collaborates on the development of museum-wide policies associated with genetic samples.
