Research of Dr. Yangfan Zhang has been focusing on characterizing environmental effects on respiratory phenotype under the light of ecology and evolution using high-precision and high-throughput aquatic respirometry. After graduating with M.Sc. & Ph.D. from Prof. Anthony P. Farrell’s laboratory at the University of British Columbia (Canada), his postdoctoral research with Prof. George Lauder aims to understand the precise bioenergetics of specific locomotion gaits and ultimately expand the potential of tracking field metabolic rate in fish.
