Michaël Nicolaï is a visiting post-doc from UGent (Belgium). While broadly interested in the evolution and colouration of tetrapods, his PhD (2022) was focussed on the evolution and function of integumentary melanin in reptiles and birds. For his post-doc he is investigating the evolutionary drivers and genetics of iridescent colouration in birds.
